Who is Avneet Kaur? Here's all about the lead of Kangana Ranaut's 'Tiku Weds Sheru'

Actor Avneet Kaur made headlines this week as Kangana Ranaut announced that she would be starring in the movie Tiku Weds Sheru as the female lead opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Though the movie will mark Avneet's Bollywood debut as a lead actor, the young artist has already starred in a number of television shows and commercials. Who is Avneet Kaur?

Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram recently and shared the poster of her first as a producer, Tiku Weds Sheru. As she shared the poster of the movie she wrote, "Receiving Padma Shri honour same day as beginning my journey as a producer is extremely special to me …Sharing with you all the first look of my first production venture under Manikarnika Films Pvt. Ltd …Tiku Weds Sheru…Here’s a piece of my heart Hope you all like. Filming begins …See you soon in theatres first[sic]."

She also introduced Avneet Kaur's character in a different post and wrote, "Chala toh chaand take, nahi toh shaam take, Meet Tasleem Khan urf tiku[sci]."

Avneet Kaur is quite popular on social media and has over 26 million followers on Instagram. Kaur began her career as a contestant on  Zee TV's dance reality show Dance India Dance Li'l Masters where she was eliminated before the semi-finals. Her first acting role came in through the show Meri Maa, she was then seen in SAB TV's Tedhe Hain Par Tere Mere Hain. She also participated in the celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

Avneet made her Bollywood debut through the action thriller film Mardaani that featured Rani Mukerji in the lead role. Kaur played the role of Mukerji's niece in the movie. She also made a cameo in the sequel of the movie Mardaani 2. Kaur gained widespread popularity for her show Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga, the show was based on the Arabian Nights' character Aladdin. She played the role of Princess Yasmine in the show for two years and exited the show in 2020 owing to health issues.

Now, Kaur is all set to make her Bollywood debut as the lead in the movie Tiku Weds Sheru opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The movie will also mark the maiden venture of Kangana Ranaut's production house Manikarnika Films Production.
