Yaariyan 2 came under the scanner before its release after the religious group Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee filed a police complaint against the makers and actor Meezaan Jafri for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. Now, Meezaan has issued an official statement confirming that the contentious scene has been removed from the film.

Meezaan Jafri reacts to multiple police complaints
Meezaan took to his social media handle to share a statement after police complaints was registered against him and Yaariyan 2 makers. It read, “We would like to apologise for any content which has been perceived to be objectionable/inadvertently hurt any religious sentiments in Yaariyan 2 and hereby assure that we have no intent to hurt sentiments of any individual/community in any manner whatsoever.”

In the statement, the actor further elaborated that he holds respect for all religions and does not mean to hurt anyone by his actions. “We have always strived to create art that entertains and brings people together. However, we reiterate there was no intention to hurt any religious sentiments, to this end, we have replaced and removed from our film the visuals that have unintentionally hurt sentiments,” Meezaan's statement concluded.
Yaariyan 2 makers land in trouble over Saure Ghar track
The Punjab Police on Friday registered another case against the producers of the upcoming movie Yaariyan 2 at the complaint of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee which took exception to an actor wearing "kirpan" in one of the film's songs.

The Amritsar Police has registered an FIR against actor Meezaan Jafri, directors Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao and producer Bhushan Kumar, police said. The FIR has been registered under IPC Section 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) of the Indian Penal Code.
Before this, an FIR was registered in Jalandhar district on the complaint of a member of the Sikh Talmel Committee.
