Dulquer Salmaan shares video as Burj Khalifa lights up with 'Kurup' trailer, pens note

South Indian actor Dulqueer Salmaan’s long-pending film 'Kurup' that faced multiple postponements, is slated to finally release theatrically on November 12.

South Indian actor Dulqueer Salmaan’s long-pending film Kurup that faced multiple postponements, is slated to finally release theatrically on November 12. The film features a stellar star cast including   Indrajith Sukumaran, Sobhita Dhulipala, Sunny Wayne, Bharath Srinivasan, Shine Tom Chacko, Surabhi Lakshmi, and Vijayaraghavan Pillai in supporting roles is directed by Srinath Rajendran. Ahead of its release, Kurup's trailer was screened at Dubai's Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

The actor was present in Dubai to watch the spectacular show with his wife Amaal Sufia, and his daughter, Maryam Ameerah Salmaan, and his fans who were thrilled to witness such a great show. Dulquer who was overwhelmed to receive such a great response from the people took to Instagram and shared a video while documenting the terrific response from the people. The actor in the post mentioned that he had never imagined that his name would be lit up in the iconic building. He credited the film and the team for their hard work that made it possible. 

Dulquer Salman's Kurup trailer screened at Burj Khalifa 

“#Kurup lights up Burj Khalifa !!! This is a huge moment for me, for the hundreds of people behind the film #Kurup and for the amazing team behind Wayfarer Films and M Star Entertainment. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine, a trailer of a film of mine let alone my name, playing on the iconic Burj Khalifa. A huge thanks to the people who made this possible[sic]." Dulquer thanked everyone who watched the trailer being played on Burj Khalifa. He wrote, "And an equally big thank you to all of you that came to witness this first of its kind spectacle play out on the Burj Khalifa. I wish to always return your love tenfold through my films[sic]."

The film which is bankrolled by Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films in association with M-Star Entertainments revolves around the fugitive Sukumara Kurup that is being played by Dulquer. The film brings forth the story of the elusive mastermind whose 37-year-old murder case has turned into folklore in Kerala. Sukumara is accused of murdering a man named Chacko in 1984, using Chacko’s corpse to fake his own death, and claiming insurance money.
