AR Rahman reacts to mismanagement at Chennai concert, issues apology

AR Rahman held a concert Marakuma Nenjam at Adityaram Palace in Chennai's Paniyur in partnership with ACTC Events on Sunday. Reportedly, thousands of people attended the concert and criticised the music composer and the event organiser for mismanagement of the crowd. Now, AR Rahman took to X, formerly Twitter, to apologise for the incident and especially to those who weren't allowed to enter the stadium due to overcrowding.

AR Rahman apologies for the unfortunate incident

AR Rahman took to X and apologised to the concertgoers who weren't allowed to enter the stadium despite a valid ticket. He wrote, "Dearest Chennai Makkale, those of you who purchased tickets and weren’t able to enter owing to unfortunate circumstances, please do share a copy of your ticket purchase to arr4chennai@btos.in along with your grievances. Our team will respond asap."

Event organisers issue apology

It may be noted that many fans turned furious after they could not make an entry to the programme venue and had complained that the show was oversold and that it was a major failure on the part of the organisers.

The concert happened at Adityaram palace, Chennai. Many fans were disappointed and furious at not being able to attend the concert due to overcrowding.

Fans who had bought tickets at rates of ₹ 2000 were also not able to enter and many complained about the mismanagement of the event. They also blamed A.R. Rahman’s team for the mismanagement.

 Taking responsibility for mismanagement at the event,  ACTC Events said in the post on X: "Grateful to Chennai and the legendary @arrahman Sir! The incredible response, the overwhelming crowd made our show a massive success. Those who couldn't attend on overcrowding, Our sincere apologies. We take full responsibility and accountable. We are with you. #MarakkumaNenjam."
