70th National Film Awards: The awardees of Indian cinema's biggest honour will be present at the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on October 8. The list of winners was announced in August and the National Award will be conferred on October 8 in the presence of film dignitaries and other prominent political figures.

The 70th National Film Awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, October 8 at the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

The winners along with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award recipient will be felicitated by the President, Droupadi Murmu . The National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) invites entries in both feature and non-feature film categories.

Who received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award this year?

This year's Dadasaheb Phalke award will be given to legendary actor Mithun Chakraborty. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India's highest award in the field of cinema. The recipient is honoured for their outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema. The award was first presented in 1969 to commemorate Dadasaheb Phalke's contribution to Indian cinema.

Jani Master's National Award suspended

Jani Master was to receive a National Award for Best Choreography for Thiruchitrambalam (2022). Pending rape allegations, the honour has been suspended.

Since Jani Master and Sathish Krishnan jointly received the National Award, the latter is still expected to attend the ceremony.
