Johnny Depp reacts as Ranveer Singh thanks him in his acceptance speech at Red Sea Film Festival

Ranveer Singh attended the Red Sea International Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The actor was awarded with the prestigious Yusr Award by Sharon Stone at the event. In his acceptance speech, Ranveer paid tribute to his "screen idol" Johnny Depp and called him the “master of transformation.”

Johnny Depp’s reaction to Ranveer Singh’s speech 

Ranveer, during his acceptance speech, thanked Depp and said, "Wow! One of my screen idols is in the house, ladies and gentlemen, Mr Johnny Depp. My good Sir, I've followed your work since Edward Scissorhands and What's Eating Gilbert Grape. What an honour to be receiving this in your presence.”

The Padmavat star added, “Thank you for everything that you unknowingly taught me about the craft. Master of transformation, versatility, something that I am inspired by you."

More about the Red Sea International Film Festival 

Several images and videos from the festival were shared on the Red Sea Film Festival's official Instagram page. Ranveer and Johnny posed together in one of the pictures. For the occasion, they both wore black.

This year's Honorary Yusr Awards were presented to three people, including Ranveer, at the Jeddah-based film gala that opened on Thursday. The other two recipients of the award were Saudi actor-writer Abdullah Al-Sadhan and actress Diane Kruger. The festival will also be attended by prominent figures from Indian cinema, such as Frieda Pinto, Katrina Kaif, and Ananya Panday. On December 9, the Red Sea International Film Festival will come to an end.
