12th Fail box office collection day 2: Vikrant Massey starrer beats Kangana's Tejas in number game

Vikrant Massey starrer 12th Fail is getting positive responses from the critics and audience. The film, which witnessed a clash with Kangana Ranaut starrer Tejas, has picked up a pace on the second day of the release seemingly due to the good word of mouth.
12th Fail Day 2 box office collection
The film which released on October 27 witnessed a slow start at ₹1.10 crore. Now, as per a report in Sacnilk, on the second day, the film has witnessed a rise in collection which is ₹2.20 crore, taking the total collection to ₹3.30 crore in India. 12th Fail had an overall 21.03 per cent Hindi occupancy on Saturday with maximum ticket sales at night.

12th Fail beats Tejas at the box office
Seeing the second day at the box office collection, Vikrant Massey starrer has outperformed despite reportedly being made on a low budget of ₹25 crores as compared to the Kangana Ranaut starrer, which was reportedly made on ₹45 crore. On the second day, Tejas minted the same as the first day ₹1.25 crore, taking the total collection to ₹2.50 crore.

Coming back to 12th Fail, the film which is helmed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, is based on the novel of the same name by Anurag Pathak. It is The film is inspired by the real-life story of IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS Officer Shraddha Joshi. The film also starred Medha Shankar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Sanjay Bishnoi and Harish Khanna, in key roles.
Speaking to IANS, Vikrant opened up about the responsibilities he carried on his shoulders while portraying such a personality on screen. He said doing justice to the character was very important for him. The role came with a sense of responsibility. But in many ways, my job was easier because of Mr [Vidhu Vinod] Chopra."
