After Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Mansi Taxak defends Triptii Dimri’s ‘lick my shoe’ scene

Mansi Taxak, who played the role of Bobby Deol's wife in Animal has spoken about the controversial 'lick my shoe' scene in the film.

Animal actor Mansi Taxak has opened up about the controversial ‘lick my shoe’ scene in the film. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial hit the big screens on December 1 and created history at the box office. Despite garnering commercial success, the film is being criticised for being misogynistic and sexist. In a new interview, Mansi who played the role of Bobby Deol’s wife in the film, has come out in the defense of the film. 

Animal actress disagrees with the ‘lick my shoe’ scene 

Triptii Dimri, who played the role of Zoya in the film, was ordered to lick Ranbir Kapoor's shoe in one of the sequences from Animal. A variety of moviegoers responded differently to the scenario, which later became the talk of the town. In a new interview, Animal actress Mansi Taxak plays the role of Bobby Deol’s wife in the film, spoke about the scene.

In conversion with Siddhant Kannan, Mansi expressed her disapproval of the scene, saying that if she had been in Zoya's position, she would have stormed out of there. However, she reasoned that Zoya’s character had her reasons to stay. The actress said, “As Triptii also said, she wouldn’t have behaved in the same way as Zoya, but that’s the kind of person Zoya is. Similarly, I wouldn’t behave like my character, who has fully submitted.” 

Mansi Taxak talks about the post-credit scene in Animal 

Another scene from the movie-going viral is the post-credit scene wherein Aziz ‘threatens’ her character to get married to him. She agreed that the scene did not show consent and was threatening.

Dwelling more into it, she shared, “In a way, he was threatening me while asking for my consent. It’s very difficult to turn someone like Aziz down, especially if you see the mood he’s in. He’s just killed someone, and he’s holding a knife. Forget my character, even I would have said yes in that moment. But given the character dynamics, for sure, Aziz is a strong-headed person, but he has certain lines that he maintains. It was a threat, yes, but he was also asking me, and he got the answer he wanted.”
