Akshay Kumar Opens Up About His Film Choices, Shares Making 'Many Changes Because Of Criticism'
Akshay Kumar, in a recent interview, shared that he chooses movies thinking in mind that the audience wants to watch such kind of story.

Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of his comedy-drama Khel Khel Mein. The movie has created a slight buzz among the movie buffs owing to its storyline highlighted in the trailer. The actor is currently having a tough phase as in the past two years none of his movies performed well at the box office. In fact, his recent release Sarfira, a Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru, earned positive reviews from the critics but failed to draw the audience in the theatres. Same case with his first release of 2024, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, co-starring Tiger Shroff, the movie failed at the box office despite extensive promotions.
In a recent interview, Akshay Kumar was critical about his film choices and said that he chooses film thinking in mind that his audience might want them. In the same conversation, the actor also spoke about the franchise culture. For the unversed, he will be seen in three sequels next year, namely - Jolly LLB 3, Welcome 3 and Housefull 5.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Akshay shared that he thinks his audience would want to have this. So keeping this in mind, he signs the movie while thinking of the results. "Whether I succeed or not; Many times I have succeeded, many times I have failed. But that doesn't tell me to stop doing it," the actor added.
When asked about facing criticism owing to his choices, the actor stated that there are different kinds of criticism among which is "personal criticism". Elaborating on this, he said that in this one person is giving feedback to another from his heart so that he/she can improve. And Akshay likes this kind of criticism. "I have made many changes because of criticism also. When I hear right criticism when I understand it, and it makes sense to me, I will go for it," he concluded.

People want to watch franchise films so I am doing them: Akshay Kumar
The actor, who has three franchise movies lined up for the next year, was asked about his views on the reception of the sequels. The actor replied that people want to watch the franchise movies and this is why he is doing them. "Whatever people say, we have to try and understand. But at the same time, I will not give up doing different kinds of cinema also. Because sometimes I feel I have to give the audience what I feel they want," Akshay added.
Meanwhile, Khel Khel Mein is slated to hit the theatres on August 15, clashing with Stree 2 and Vedaa.
