Akshay Kumar Starrer Welcome To The Jungle Shelved? Here's The Truth

Welcome To The Jungle: After a lukewarm response to Khel Khel Mein, Akshay Kumar will now try his luck in Ahmed Khan directorial Welcome To The Jungle. The film is the third instalment in the Welcome series. While the filming of the project kickstarted in November last year. In the latest development, there were several reports of the film getting shelved. However, makers have now addressed the rumours.

Welcome To the Jungle director clears the air

Director Ahmed Khan said in a statement, “There is no truth to these rumours. The film is on track, and we are kickstarting our next leg of the marathon schedule internationally from October for which my technical team has already left for the first recce.”

Reportedly, the makers have already finished 70% of the shoot. This is not the first time, the film has faced challenges. Earlier, Sanjay Dutt decided to walk out of the film citing certain reasons.

The reason behind Sanjay Dutt’s exit from the film

As per Bollywood Hungama, Sanjay wasn’t happy with the unplanned shooting schedule and decided to opt out of the movie. The portal quoted a source as saying, “Sanjay Dutt has cited date issues for his exit. He has conveyed all the issues to his dear friend Akshay, who took the points into account and holds no bad blood. Sanjay Dutt felt that the Welcome To The Jungle shoot was happening in an unplanned way, with too many changes in the script, disturbing his diary of the shoot, and hence has parted ways.”

Welcome to the Jungle assembles a massive cast

Directed by Ahmed Khan, Welcome 3 reportedly boasts a massive budget and features multiple actors including the likes of Akshay Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, Jacqueliene Fernandez, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, and Sayaji Shinde in pivotal roles.

The original Welcome, starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, and Paresh Rawal, released in 2007. It was followed by Welcome Back in 2015 and was headlined by John Abraham and Shruti Haasan. Both the movies were helmed by Anees Bazmee. Presented by Base Industries Group, Welcome to the Jungle is produced by Firoz A Nadiadwallah and is slated to release in the Christmas week, on December 20.
