Akshay Kumar To Star In Tirangaa Remake? Producer Narendra Hirawat Reacts

Tirangaa, starring Raaj Kumar and Nana Patekar in the lead roles, is one of the classic movies of Bollywood that turned out to be a blockbuster hit at the box office. Now, rumours are rife that Akshay Kumar has signed the remake of the action drama. However, it turns out to be a false report.

It is a completely new and original script: Producer Narendra Hirawat

It was reported that producer Narendra Hirawat would be producing the film. However, when Bollywood Hungama asked to confirm the news, he stated that he had indeed signed Akshay but not for the remake of Tirangaa or any other movie. He added it is an original script.

“In the last few days, there have been a few media reports stating that we are producing a remake of the film Tirangaa with Shri Akshay Kumar in the lead. We would like to hereby affirm that this news is completely baseless and untrue. Yes, we are indeed producing a film with Shri Akshay Kumar in the lead but we would like to categorically state that it is NOT a remake of any film. It is a completely new and original script. An official announcement regarding the same will be made soon," his statement reads.

Narendra Hirawat has produced several hit movies such as Ek Villain, Half Girlfriend, Lootera, Ek Thi Daayan, The Dirty Picture, Desi Boyz and more. His latest release is Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, which is struggling at the box office.

Akshay Kumar gearing up for Khel Khel Mein

The actor will be next seen in Khel Khel Mein, co-starring Ammy Virk, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Aditya Seal, Fardeen Khan and Pragya Jaiswal. The movie will release on August 15, clashing with Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2 and John Abraham's Vedaa.
