She added that despite people believing that she comes from a legacy of privilege, there have been tough points in her life. She told the outlet, “My parents struggled to get to a point where I could enjoy their privilege. I do recognize that.”

The actress also revealed during the interview that during childhood, she found herself drawn to her sister Pooja's films as she didn't want to see her mother being pushed out of a window. “Honestly, I was very sensitive as a child and I took the films too seriously. I didn’t want to see my mother being pushed out of a window or see her suffering. That wasn’t something I wanted to engage with,” Alia explained. This refers to the rather intense nature of her parents’ films.
