Animal Box Office Day 16: Ranbir Kapoor starrer set to become first A-rated movie in ₹500 crore club

Animal hit the big screen on December 1 alongside Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur. The Ranbir Kapoor starrer dominated the box office ever since its release and continues to draw audiences to housefull theatres even after 2 weeks of theatrical run. The film is close to amassing a total of ₹500 crore in domestic collection. 

Animal becomes the highest-grossing A-rated film 

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal has emerged to be one of the biggest films of the year. The movie was certified an adult-only certificate by the CBFC owing to its graphic scenes and gore violence. Despite having a limited audience, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer has emerged as a blockbuster at the box office. 

As per early estimates provided by Sacnilk, on the third Saturday of its theatrical run, Animal minted ₹13 crore. This has taken the film’s total collection to ₹498.14 crore in India. The film is just a few crores short of breaching the ₹500 crore mark. The movie will become the fourth Hindi film in the industry to enter the club and the first A-rated film to mint the staggering total.  

Rashmika Mandanna opens up about Animal success 

Rashmika Mandanna has spoken about her Animal role Gitanjali and said that her strength is her most admirable trait and she loved every bit of playing the character. On receiving so much love, Rashmika shared: “My loves!! The past couple of days has been so overwhelming with the amount of love I have been receiving for Animal.. it’s inexplicable. Thank you. Gitanjali is a character very dear to me as an actor." “Her strength is her most admirable trait, and I just loved every bit of playing her character. I’m going to forever cherish the moments spent on the sets with the whole team of Animal.” 

Animal marks the second venture for director Sandeep Reddy Vanga in the Hindi film industry after his 2020 film Kabir Singh. The film also stars Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles.
