Bad Newz Box Office Collection Day 3: Vicky-Triptii Starrer Mints ₹30.17 Crore In Opening Weekend

Bad Newz is establishing itself as one of the strongest movies as it continues to soar high on the third day at the domestic box office. Starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk, the movie resonates well with its target audience. While urban sectors continue to show strong support, the response from mass pockets remains subdued.

On Sunday, the movie was expected to earn much more than on Saturday, but the movie witnessed only around 7.32 per cent. It minted ₹11 crore at the domestic box office, per an early estimate reported by Sacnilk. Adding the three-day collection, the movie earned ₹30.17 crore in the opening weekend. Bad Newz had an overall 28.78 per cent Hindi occupancy on Sunday with the maximum reported in Chennai (60.25 per cent).

Moving forward, achieving a strong performance on the crucial day 4 (Monday) is essential to maintain its momentum.

Bad Newz overseas box office report

Not just in India, Bad Newz is enjoying its run in overseas theatres. The movie has reportedly grossed an estimated $1.1 million at the North American box office with additional earnings from other markets, taking the global box office collection to around ₹40 crore.

Now, Bad Newz has just one week to continue its box office run in both India and overseas as the much-awaited Marvel superhero movie Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit the theatres on July 26. Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine, the movie is predicted to open with $160 million in North America alone.

Helmed by Anand Tiwari, the comedy-drama is inspired by true events. It revolves around heteropaternal superfecundation, a reproductive process in which twins are born to the same mother, but from different biological fathers.  It is a spiritual sequel to Good Newwz (2019), starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh.
