Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk starrer, Bad Newz, has performed well at the box office. The movie opened at ₹8.62 and went on to earn double digits over the weekend. In just opening weekend the movie managed to earn ₹30.62 crore in India. However, the movie's first-week earnings depend on Monday collection.
Helmed by Anand Tiwari, the comedy-drama witnessed a sharp decline, 68.61 per cent, in the collection on the fourth day, hence failing the Monday test. minted ₹3.5 crore, early estimates reported by Sacnilk. Bad Newz had an overall 13.65 per cent Hindi occupancy on Monday with the maximum reported in Jaipur (21 per cent).
In selected metro cities, Bad Newz is reportedly not performing up to its potential, as heavy rain is affecting the movement. However, the overall box office is still steady and from here, the film needs to stand steady at the box office until Friday to earn decent numbers in the first week. Urban centres will need to cover the shortfall in the coming days.
On Monday, the makers announced BOGO (Buy one get one) offer on Bad Newz movie tickets. Produced by Amazon Prime, Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective, the film is inspired by true events. It revolves around heteropaternal superfecundation, a reproductive process in which twins are born to the same mother, but from different biological fathers.
