Chandu Champion Weekend BO Collection: Film Mints ₹24.11 Crore, Faces Tough Competition With Munjya

Chandu Champion, starring Kartik Aaryan in a titular role, is having a great time at the box office. The movie had a lukewarm start by minting ₹5.40 crore. However, on the second day (Saturday), the movie showed 42.59 per cent growth in the daily collection. The daily collection rose on the third day of the release with the movie earning ₹24.11 crore in its first weekend.

Helmed by Kabir Khan, the movie minted ₹11.01 crore on Sunday, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Adding the three-day collection, the total now stands at ₹24.11 crore in India. Chandu Champion had an overall 32.47 per cent Hindi occupancy on Sunday with the maximum reported in the Pune region (41.25 per cent).

However, the real test is Tuesday as the movie will enjoy the advantage of an extended weekend since Day 4 (Monday) is a holiday. As per Taran Adarsh, another “bountiful day is on the cards”.

The movie is currently facing a tough fight with Sharvari Wagh and Abhay Verma starrer Munjya.

Despite its second week at the box office, the supernatural horror comedy is currently holding its ground at the box office. The movie is faring exceptionally well and is grabbing a major chunk of the market share. On the second Sunday, the movie minted higher than its first Sunday, which is ₹8.75 crore. It continues to defy all predictions as far as its lifetime business is concerned.

Additionally, it has silenced all those who felt - prior to its release - that Munjya should’ve taken the direct-to-digital route. Adding the Sunday collection, the total now stands at ₹55.75 crore. If the pace remains the same, then the movie might cross ₹60 crore mark on Monday.
