Rohit Shetty is gearing up for the release of his upcoming web show Indian Police Force. The series stars Sidharth Malhotra in the lead role and marks the OTT debut of both the actor and director. In a new interview, the director best known for feeling the cop drama film Singham revealed that the Ajay Devgn film was shot in less than 5 months.
Rohit Shetty says he worked over 20 hours in Singham
Rohit Shetty is one of the filmmakers who credits his team, at the end of each film. The director incorporated a message film by ‘Rohit Shetty and team’ at the end of Singham. When asked about the same, the director told comedian Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa, “We all worked together. Singham was completed in 4.5 months and we used to work for 20 hours in a day. That will not happen alone with my work and dedication, we need a team like that. The same team is with me today and they never complained when they had to work for more than 20 hours. So that’s why I felt it is important to give them the credit.”
Talking about the reason behind making Singham in haste, Rohit expressed that he made Golmaal 3 and had planned to make Bol Bachchan and Chennai Express. But before shooting two consecutive comedic movies, he felt as though he would be betraying the audience, so he decided to try something different. During a break, one of Bol Bachchan's writers chatted with Ajay Devgn, and they decided to work together on Singham. He recalled,”I told Ajay sir, ‘We will make this film in your four-month gap and release it.’ He said, ‘Are you sure? How can we do it in four months?’ We started shooting for the film on 4th March and we released it on 22nd July. We shot this film in Goa and Mumbai.”
Rohit Shetty begins shooting for Singham Again
The shoot for Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham Again began on September 16, Director Rohit Shetty announced. A follow-up to Singham Returns, the movie is a part of the director's new 'Cop Universe', and the third instalment of the Ajay Devgn-starrer. Announcing the beginning of the shoot, the Golmaal: Fun Unlimited director took to Instagram and wrote: "Singham, Singham Returns, Simmba, Sooryavanshi... 12 years ago, when we made 'Singham', we never thought that it would turn into a Cop Universe! Today, we begin filming Singham Again... the 5th film in our cop franchise."

Rohit Shetty inaugurated the ceremony in his studio, lighting the diya and offering his prayers to Lord Shiva, seeking blessings for his film. Ajay Devgn, who will reprise his role as the supercop, shared a picture on X account (formerly Twitter) and wrote: "12 years ago, we gave Indian Cinema its biggest cinematic Cop Universe. With all the love we have received over the years, the force got stronger and the Singham family got bigger. Today we come together to take our franchise ahead with Singham Again".
