Anil Sharma directed Gadar 2 has been ruling at the box office after its release on August 11. The film has now become the third highest-grossing Hindi movie of all time. In a new interview, Anil spoke about the box office success of his film and how much the commercial aspect matters to him. The director seems certain that the film can mint ₹1000 crore.

Anil Sharma says Gadar is ‘people’s film’ 

In a conversation with India.com, Anil Sharma was asked if he thinks Gadar 2 can surpass Pathaan’s collection. The Sidharth Anand directorial is the highest-grossing movie of 2023 so far.

Responding to this, the director said, “Dekhiye mai yeh sab numberon pe nhi jata. Pathaan ne apni jagah acha kiya, KGF ne bhi acha kiya and Gadar bahut hi acha kar rhi hai. Ab kaha tak jaygi, kaha tak public lejaigi who dekhte hain. (I don’t know numbers. Pathaan has also done well, KGF has also done well and Gadar is also doing well. Where it goes, that time will tell).”

Anil Sharma added that Gadar 2 is people’s film and the team is not bothered about the numbers. He mentioned that they are more focused on the audience’s love and not the box office collection. Having said this, he added that the film has set its eyes on the earlier records. 

Anil Sharma says Gadar 2 will breach ₹500 crore mark

Anil also said that the film has already breached ₹450 crore mark and he thinks it will make ₹500 crore soon.“We have already crossed Rs 400 crore, it will reach 500 crore mark in the coming week and maybe the Rs 1,000 crore mark at some point. So, we are not looking at numbers alone, we are trying to make a place in people’s hearts,” he said. 

The director reiterated that people loving the film is enough for them. However, the director quipped, “Jo bhi iske number hai woh real, kuch bhi fake nahi hai (The numbers made by Gadar 2 are real and not fake)."
