Gadar 2 star Ameesha Patel opens up about doing intimate scenes, kissing onscreen

Ameesha Patel, who is revelling in the success of her latest outing Gadar 2, recently opened up about not doing intimate scenes and kissing onscreen. In an interview with Instant Bollywood, the actress weighed in on the importance of setting personal boundaries.

In her interview, Ameesha said she is open to portraying "alluring" characters, but expressed her hesitation in doing explicitly intimate scenes or wearing certain types of clothing on screen. Ameesha also spoke about her reluctance to use abusive language or indulge in kissing scenes. While being steadfast in her own choices, Ameesha Patel said that she respects other actors' decisions to partake in such scenes. "Sunny Deol has got the same principle. I've got the same principles. So, I'm not averse to looking hot. I'm not comfortable doing extensive sexually intimate scenes. I'm not comfortable kissing on screen and things like that," she said.

Previously in an interview with Republic Digital, Ameesha Patel showered praises on Sunny Deol. "Coming back with Sunny is always a pleasure. Even if I'm just a kathputli and I've to stand in one corner and if Sunny comes, then I'll do that film with him," she said. She added, "He is by far my favourite person to work with. He is a gentleman in every way."

Set in 1971, Gadar 2, which has grossed over ₹400 crore at the domestic box office, follows Tara Singh (Deol)'s journey to Pakistan to rescue his son, Charanjeet Singh, played by Utkarsh Sharma, from the Pakistani Army. It also features Ameesha Patel, Manish Wadhwa and Gaurav Chopra.
