Honey Singh Opens Up About His Divorce From Shalini Talwar: Separation Ke Baad Meri Dawaai...

Honey Singh has been in the news after he publicly criticised his hit tracks during an interview. Now, the singer has opened up about his much-discussed divorce from Shalini Talwar. The ex-couple ended their 11-year marriage in 2022 after Talwar accused the Punjabi singer of multiple offences under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act.

On September 10, 2022, they filed for divorce which was finalised a year later in November. The singer reportedly paid Rs 1 crore as alimony.

During an interview with Mashable India, Singh candidly talked about his personal life and revealed that he wasn't emotionally affected by the separation from his ex-wife as things happened "suddenly". In fact, after the spilt, the singer's health started getting better. “Jab mera separation hua, uske baad main theek hona shuru hua hu, uske baad meri dawaai kum hui hai (I was sick for a long time, and after the separation, I started feeling better. My medication reduced, and I stopped experiencing symptoms.) It was like I was seeing the world for the first time in seven years,” the singer added.

The singer didn't reveal the reason behind their separation as the duo has an agreement forbidding them from talking about each other in public.

In the same conversation, the singer shared that he confided in Sonakshi Sinha about his troubled marriage 10 years ago. He recalled his and Sonakshi's emotional discussion during the shooting of their music video Desi Kalakar about marriage. And how the actress helped him with her point of view on what marriage really means. “While shooting in Los Angeles, Sonakshi and I had a long discussion about marriage. I was going through a rough patch in my own marriage, and I confided in her about it. She shared her views on what marriage really means, even though she wasn’t married herself back then," he said.
