Ishq Vishk Rebound, starring Rohit Saraf, Jibraan Khan, debutant Pashmina Roshan and Naila Grrewal, had a slow start at the box office in India. The movie earned only ₹1 crore. The second day was not different and saw a slight hike in the collection. The romantic-comedy drama, helmed by Nipun Dharmadhikari, serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2003 hit movie Ishq Vishk.
As per the early estimates reported by Sacnilk, the movie minted ₹1.15 crore on the second day of its release. Adding the two-day collection, the movie has earned ₹2.15 crore in India. Ishq Vishk Rebound had an overall 16.82 per cent Hindi occupancy on Saturday with the maximum reported in Pune (24.50 per cent).
Despite a month-long aggressive promotion by the four young leads, the film's performance at the box office has been lacklustre. The movie is facing tough competition from the previous week's releases, Chandu Champion and Munjya.
Although its start wasn’t strong, Ishq Vishk Rebound performed better than Vidya Balan's Do Aur Do Pyaar, which earned Rs 60 lakh on its opening day, and Kiran Rao's Laapataa Ladies, which made Rs 75 lakh on its first day. Laapataa Ladies eventually garnered Rs 20.24 crore over its lifetime, gaining more attention after it began streaming.
In addition to the main cast, the film stars social media influencer turned actor Kusha Kapila, alongside veteran actors Supriya Pilgaonkar, Akarsh Khurana, Shataf Figar and Sheeba Chadha. The rom-com is produced by Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films, the same production house behind the original 2003 film.
