Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for the release of her film Mr and Mrs Mahi. The sports drama film also stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead role. In a recent interview, the actress shared how cinema has changed post-pandemic.
Janhvi Kapoor, in an interview with PTI, shared how cinema has changed post-pandemic. She shared that mid-range movies have gotten their due following the coronavirus pandemic. The actress shared, “The shift in the way the audience is consuming cinema post the pandemic has forced us to recalibrate a little bit.”
She added that “It is a good time.” She also confessed that she hopes people will enjoy her film, Mr and Mrs Mahi. She shared, “As actors you crave and itch to do films or tell stories like 'Mr & Mrs Mahi', so I hope people lap it up and enjoy it and we get to make more such films.”
In the same conversation, Janhvi also shared if box office pressures impact her performance or choice of films. She mentioned that most films find their audience ‘eventually’. She shared, “Eventually, what's meant to happen with a film always happens and it might not be what you expect but it will be what a film deserves. Every film has a destiny. Sometimes you don't get what you hope out of a film.”
Janhvi mentioned making some mistakes with her films. She added, “I've been in many scenarios where I've put all my eggs in one basket and I'm like, 'With this film, everything will be set'. But sometimes you don't realise what you need out of it.” Produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions, Mr & Mrs Mahi will be released in cinemas on Friday.
