Jigra Box Office Collection: Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina starrer hit the theatres today, October 11. The movie, which was expected to leave an impact on the minds of viewers has earned mixed reviews from the critics. The movie buffs are also divided on the internet with a section of the internet praising the performance of Alia, while others are slamming the makers for its weak plot. Amid all this, reports of cinema halls cancelling the shows of Jigra started doing the rounds - reason - low occupancy.

Helmed by Vasan Bala, the movie has opened at ₹4.25 crore at the box office with a maximum in Hindi language (₹4.2 crore) and only 0.05 crore in Telugu, early estimates reported by Sacnilk. Jigra had an overall 16.10 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday with the maximum reported in Chennai (65 per cent).

Seeing the movie earning mixed reviews, the numbers are expected to drop on the second day.

Jigra vs Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video

Interestingly, the movie lost the opening day collection battle to Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. The movie starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri was also released in the theatres today and to note, it is earning positive reviews from the audience. According to early estimates reported by Sacnilk, the movie has earned ₹5 crore at the box office in India.

Kangana Ranaut 's indirect dig at Alia Bhatt amid Jigra mixed reviews, low opening

Earlier today, Kangana took to her Instagram Stories and penned a note talking about how karma works. She wrote, "When you destroy woman centric films and make sure that they don't work, they don't work, even when you make them. Read that again. Thanks."

Apart from Alia, the movie stars The Archies actor Vedang Raina and veteran actor Manoj Pahwa in key roles.
