Jigra vs Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video Box Office: The Alia Bhatt starrer hit the big screens on October 11 alongside Triptii Dimri and Rajkummar Rao's comedy-drama. Both films have benefited from the Dussehra holiday on the second day of release. However, the total collection of the movie remains abysmal.
Jigra registers good growth on day 2
The release of Jigra has been marred with controversies around plagiarism and nepotism. Following the release of the film, social media users have also accused the makers of projecting fake box office collections by practising corporate bookings. This was further aggravated by T-series head Bhushan Kumar's wife Divya Khossla Kumar alleging that Alia Bhatt 's movie is running in empty theatres. Amid this, Jigra collections saw minimal growth on day 2.
Jigra opened to ₹4.55 crore in India, making it Alia's lowest opener in 10 years. On the second day, the movie has raked in ₹6.50 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk. The film's total collection has amassed ₹11.05 crore in India. However, the Alia Bhatt -Vedang Raina film still lags behind Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video remains cine-goers' favourite
Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is a comedy-drama film that narrates the tale of a newlywed couple who decide to film their intimate scenes on the first night of the wedding only to lose the recording. What ensues is chaos and comedy as they try to retire the CD with the recording. The movie is a family entertainer which makes it ideal for a festive release.
Featuring Triptii Dimri and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video opened to a decent ₹5.25 core. On day 2 of the theatrical run, the film has raked in ₹6.75 crore, as per Sacnilk. The total business of the film now stands at ₹12 crore.
Both Jigra and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video will continue to have a dream run at the box office owing to no other significant release in the coming weeks.
