Kajol Defends Husband Ajay Devgn: Ajay Devgn has faced professional setbacks after his recent release Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha failed to take off at the box office. The film is the actor's third release of the year following Shaitaan and Maidaan. While the last two films underperformed at the box office, the supernatural horror Shaitaan was a hit. Amid the slump, the actor's wife Kajol has spoken about the transient nature of the box office.

Kajol opens up about the unpredictable nature of box office 


In recent times, the underperformance of Bollywood movies at the box office has made headlines. With big-budget movies like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Maidaan, Ulajh and others not being able to leave a mark on the audience, the future of the Hindi film industry is being questioned. Amid this, Kajol, in a new interview has shed light on the reason behind the same and the infiltration of global cinema has made the audience spoilt for choice.

In an interview with Variety, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai hitmaker shared, "(the nature of box office) Right now, it’s a huge question mark. There is no formula." She added, "We can’t predict audiences. If we could, we’d be gods of the film industry." She acknowledged that the audience now has a choice to watch content from all corners of the world.

She added, "When you’re watching content in all different languages across the world, you’re bound to compare your own content to it." In conclusion, Kajol shared, "Today, you’re not only going to be compared to the people within your sphere, it’s a lot bigger, this pool is much bigger for you to stand out in. And therefore, you have to perform at that level as well."

'A  good script is not easy to find', says Kajol 


In the same conversation, Kajol emphasised that the only thing that matters to her while choosing a script is the story. She claimed, "My hero is my script." She added, "I have to really like what I’m doing, who I’m playing. I have to be able to find that amount of material to work with. A good script is not easy to find, it’s really not easy to find, it’s something that you have to like, look through, look through, look through.”
