A section of the internet is praising Alia's acting skills, plot and direction, but others are giving bad reviews and believe that positive reviews of the movie are "fake". Taking to her Instagram Stories, Kangana dropped a note that reads, "When you destroy woman centric films and make sure that they don't work, they don't work, even when you make them. Read that again. Thanks."
Netizens are divided over Jigra
The X page is flooded with mixed reviews for Jigra. A user wrote, " Alia Bhatt - the actor that you are. Girl pulled of action, emotions, acting so effortlessly...such a heartwarming movie!"
Another user called the movie "tiresome" and added, " Alia Bhatt performs well but that's not enough. The film is dragged and the entire film revolves around jailbreaking and not the main conflict. The basic issue is that the film isn't entertaining. Another victim of poor writing."
Another wrote, "Such a boring movie. Too overrated. Regret watching it. What a waste of money. No story line just Alia trying to fit in a action film."
A user praised Alia's "powerful" performance in the movie and added, "#AliaBhatt delivers a powerful performance as a protective sister, Vasan’s direction adds a stylish touch to the prison break story. The action sequences are visceral and gripping! Cons - some pacing issues and plot elements felt predictable. But overall worth it."
Jigra to have a very low opening at the box office?
A user Box Office Chronicle has claimed that the movie will have a "terrible opening" across India. "Collections are almost ZERO outside 6 big cities. Without corporate bookings & inflated numbers, it CANNOT collect more than Rs 3 crore net on Day 1," the post reads.
Jigra is helmed by Vasan Bala and co-produced by Dharma Productions. Alia starrer is facing competition at the box office with Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri.
