The film was originally released in 2006 and marked the directorial debut of Dibakar Banerjee. The makers have now announced the return of the film to theatres in October.

Khosla Ka Ghosla narrates the tale of a middle-class man Kamal Kishore Khosla, whose land is captivated by a thug Kishen Kurana (played by Boman Irani). Khosla's son Cherry (Parvin Dabas), along with his friends hatches a plan to fool the crook and get his father's rights back to him. What ensues is a series of comedy of errors and flawed plots that leave the audience laughing.

At the time of release, Khosla Ka Ghosla reportedly minted nearly ₹5 crore (steep for the time). Six years after its release, the comedy flick was screened at the Hay Festival in 2012. It was also screened at the 2006 Kara Film Festival. The movie is currently streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar.
Khosla Ka Ghosla opened to a massively positive critical acclaim. Over the years, the film has come to be known as one of the finest comedies produced in the industry. The Anupam Kher headliner won the National Fiilm Award for Best Hindi Feature Film in 2006. The Dibakar Banerjee directorial was later remade in Tamil as Poi Solla Porom (2006) and unofficially in Kannada as Rame Gowda Vs. Krishna Reddy (2010).
