Filmmaker Kiran Rao's wish has come true as her directorial Laapataa Ladies has been picked as India's official entry for Oscars 2025. The movie, released on March 1, didn't perform well at the box office but soon after it made its debut on OTT, it was widely hailed by the audience. The movie's plotline, screenplay and cast performances were lauded by the critics and audience. As the movie is now creating a heavy buzz on the Internet, let's meet the cast of the movie.

Meet Laapataa Ladies' excellect cast

Nitanshi Goel

Let's start with the youngest lead cast of the movie, who made her debut in the acting world with Ayushmann Khurrana's Vicky Donor (2012), who grabbed the limelight with her innocent performance in the movie. The actress played the role of Phool Kumari, wife of Deepak Kumar (Sparsh Shrisvastav), who gets exchanged inside the train while on her way to in-laws' house. Laapataa Ladies marked her debut as a leading lady in Bollywood.

Apart from Laapataa Ladies and Vicky Donor, she has also starred in movies, including M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Maidaan and Indu Sarkar. She has also worked in the TV industry, being featured in shows, including Ishqbaaaz, Thapki Pyar Ki, and Peshwa Bajirao.

Pratibha Ranta

In the movie, she plays the role of Jaya Tripathi Singh/Pushpa Rani, who accidentally comes along with Deepak Kumar (pretending to be his wife). The actress won the hearts of many with her acting prowess in the movie. Laapataa Ladies marks her debut in Bollywood. Within the short span of her career starting from 2020, she has worked in all mediums - Big screen, small screen and OTT. Before making big in the Hindi cinema, she worked in the TV industry and appeared in two shows - Qurbaan Hua and Aadha Ishq. This year, she also made her OTT debut with hit Sanjay Leela Bhansali's show Heeramandi, where she portrayed the role of Shama.

Sparsh Shrivastava

He is one of the well-known young artists in the Hindi film industry. The actor started his journey in 2012 with the show Fear Files: Darr Ki Sacchi Tasvirein and went on to feature in several hit shows, including Balika Vadhu, Sher-E- Punjab : Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Prithvi Vallabh - Itihaas Bhi, Rahasya Bhi. However, he gained fame after starring in the web series Jamtara – Sabka Number Ayega as Sunny. Along with the series, his performance was also hailed by the critics and audience.

Owing to his acting in Jamtara, Aamir Khan approached the actor to play the role of Deepak in Laapataa Ladies. The critics and audience immensely hailed his acting as a newlywed man, whose wife gets exchanged inside the train.

Chhaya Kadam

While people might recognise Chhaya as Manju Maai, she has given many prolific performances in movies, including Gangubai Kathiawadi, Sairat and Madgaon Express. Not just this, her upcoming movie All We Imagine as Light has become the first Indian film to compete in the main competition since 1994 and won the Grand Prix.

Ravi Kishan

He is a veteran actor, who has been in the industry for decades. He portrayed the role of Sub-Inspector Shyam Manohar, who probes the case of a wife swap in the movie.
