Manoj Bajpayee reveals one can't improvise with Amitabh Bachchan, says 'he really likes to rehearse'

Improvising your lines can sometimes work wonders but not all of your co-stars will receive it uninformed. This is what happened with Manoj Bajpayee when he tried changing lines in a scene with Amitabh Bachchan. Manoj said that this happened only because Big B rehearses his lines religiously.

Manoj Bajpayee shares an interesting anecdote of working with Big B

During the Bollywood Hungama actors' roundtable, Manoj shared, “Amit ji rehearses quite diligently. I’ve done three or four films with him. You cannot mess with his cues. A couple of times, I improvised slightly. He says, ‘Suniye, aapne kuch badla hai kya (Listen, have you changed something)?’ I said, ‘Pata nahi sir (I don’t know)’.”

Manoj revealed Big B called someone to confirm the same. The Family Man actor continued, “He said, ‘Mujhe lagta hai aapne kuch badla hai (I think you’ve changed something)’. He called someone over and said, ‘Bhai scene leke aaiye (Let’s check the scene again)’. With Amit ji you can’t (improvise). One thing I’ve learned from him is that he really likes to rehearse… You do whatever you want, but give him the cue.”

Do you know when Manoj met Amitabh he was fully drunk?

In an old interview, Manoj recalled the time when he first met Big B. It was after getting drunk at a private screening for Satya, Manoj revisited, “I realized that the film is about to end and Amitabh Bachchan will come out of the studio anytime now. RGV went and he called me. I said no because I was drunk. He said ok and he went. ”

Bajpayee further shared with another portal, “The moment I came out, Abhishek Bachchan came and he spoke to me and then I felt someone came and stood. From where I was standing, I could see the man’s chest and I did not have the courage to look up because I knew he was Amitabh.”
