Nitin Desai death: Police recover 11 audio clips from Lagaan art director's studio

Police officials spent 9 hours at Nitin Desai's studio
At around 9 am on Wednesday, the Raigad police received a call about Nitin Desai's suicide. After this, a team of Raigad district police, forensic experts from Mumbai's Kalina, a dog squad and fingerprint experts were called to the studio. The police and expert teams were in the studio for over 9 hours investigating the case and collecting statements from Nitin Desai's family members, driver and caretaker.
Eyewitness Mayur Dongre who worked on a contract basis for the Art Director's studio said, "Nitin Desai had made a big bow and arrow on the ground late night on set number 6 inside ND Studio. Later, the art director died by suicide by hanging himself at the same place as the bow and arrow." He added, "The bow and arrow was made on the ground with a rope by Desai."

11 Audio clips recovered by Raigad Police
Confirming the recovery of audio clips to Republic TV, a top source in Raigad District Police on grounds of anonymity said, "We have recovered 11 audio clips. He (Nitin Desai) has named a few people in those clips. He started his conversation by offering prayers and salutations to Lalbaugcha Raja. We have sent the clips for forensic."
Raigad SP while speaking to the media yesterday had said, "We have seized electronic devices and gadgets and have sent them to Kalina FSL. We will do a detailed investigation into the matter."

Sources also said that the police will soon question everyone whose names are mentioned in the audio clips. As per PTI, Desai's company had borrowed Rs 185 crore through two loans from ECL Finance in 2016 and 2018, and troubles with repayments started in January 2020.
