Paresh Rawal is gearing up for the release of his film Dream Girl 2. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about the growing trend of discrediting Bollywood as soon as a few movies fail to perform at the box office. The veteran actor blamed disunity within the industry as the reason for people’s perception of the fraternity.

Paresh Rawal make shocking confessions about Bollywood 

When Paresh Rawal was asked why social media users have become quick to dismiss, the actor opined that ‘lack of unity’ is what is hurting the Hindi film industry. He also posed regional Indian cinema as a contrast to Bollywood and said that their unity is exemplary.

The actor-turned-politician said Bollywood has become an ‘easy target’ adding "humare Bollywood walo me unity nhi hai." He further told Pinkvilla, "Agar Bollywood walo me unity ho toh koi kuch nhi kar sakta….. Lekin unity honi chahiye jaise South me hai. (Because Bollywood lacks unity. If we were united, no one would have been able to do anything. We should be united like the South (cinema).” The Hera Pheri actor added that no one would dare vandalize theatre or pelt stones if the industry stood together as one. 

Paresh Rawal sings praises of South film industries

The 68-year-old actor believes that the Hindi film industry has a lot to learn from the South film industries -- Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu. Paresh Rawal said in the same interview, “South me aap kisi k khilaaf bol k dikhao. Kisi ki himmat nahi hogi. Toh jo South me hai vo idhar nahi hai (No one dares to say anything against anyone in the South. Whatever it is that the South has, Bollywood is lacking."
