Shreyas Talpade recalls mother's advice of doing salaried jobs
In a recent conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Shreyas Talpade recalled his mother’s advice to take up salaried jobs. He mentioned, “Today, you have different avenues of earning revenue. And it is only for this reason that for the longest time, till the day of Iqbal’s release, my mom continuously kept telling me, ‘Why don’t you look for a steady, constant job that will give you a paycheque at the end of every month? Now you are married, how will you feed your wife?’.”
He continued that his mother was certain he would keep up his career in acting after she saw Iqbal. He recalled, “And when she saw the film, she said, ‘Ok, now I guess you are going to be doing only this’. Having said that, there are a lot of uncertainties here. Some people make it, most of them don’t.” However, the Housefull 2 actor continued that as an actor there is always an insecurity about where the next paycheque will come. He confessed feeling self-doubt when films get shelved and there is no guarantee about the next project.
Shreyas Talpade recalls the time Amitabh Bachchan went bankrupt
In the same conversation, Shreyas also spoke about not taking financial struggles seriously. He mentioned that it is part and parcel of an actor’s life. He said, “Certain films might work, certain might not, but that is not the end of your career. Your work is only part of life, not your life. So, you cannot take it so seriously that it starts affecting your life. You learn these things in your journey, at that point time there are certain rash decisions you have to make for a rainy day but that’s okay.
