Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal had a civil marriage on June 23 which was followed by a lavish yet post-wedding bash later that day. The couple has been sharing their photos on Instagram, but have turned off their comments section to keep trolls at bay. However, this isn't stopping her from shutting down the trolls. Yes, a section of the internet is slamming the actress for her inter-faith marriage.

How did Sonakshi Sinha shut down the trolls?

The actress slipped into the comment section of an artist on Instagram which features a caricature of the newlyweds in wedding reception outfits. The artist captioned the post, "Love is the universal religion. Wishing @aslisona @iamzahero a happy life." The actress was quick to notice and commented, "Truest words!! This is adorable. Thank you.” Others also supported the actress and dropped comments in her favour. A user wrote, "No problem with Srk Gauri & Kareena Saif but why ppl making big issues on their relationship." Another wrote, "That is so true. Humanity is the ultimate goal." Others simply dropped the "Congratulations" comment.

The couple got married under the Special Marriage Act of 1954. It was an intimate ceremony, which was only attended by their families and close friends.

Now, multiple reports suggest that it was gifted by the Notebook actor to Sonakshi. The electric luxury sedan is worth over Rs 2 crore. It is not confirmed yet which model has been gifted to the actress.

The couple dated for around seven years before taking a plunge and getting married.
