Sridevi Chowk Unveiled In Mumbai's Lokhandwala 6 Years After Her Death, Boney, Khushi Kapoor Attend
Sridevi Chowk was unveiled in Mumbai in her honour six years after the actress died. Her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi Kapoor were present.
Sridevi's untimely death shocked the entire nation. The actress was one of the most popular names in Bollywood and breathed her last on February 24, 2018. Six years after her passing, a road in her name has been unveiled in Mumbai's Lokhandwala area. The late actor's husband Boney Kapoor and her daughter Khushi Kapoor were present at the unveiling.

On October 12, Boney Kapoor was joined by his youngest daughter Khushi Kapoor for the unveiling of a road in the late actress' name. A chowk in Mumbai's Lokhandwala has been now named Sridevi Chowk in honour of the legendary actress, six years after her passing. Photos and videos from the naming ceremony are now circulating online.
In the photos, Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor could be seen in an all-blue attire. He pulled down a red coloured cloth to unveil a large stone with the inscription “Sridevi Kapoor Chowk” along with the late actress' photo. Khushi accompanied her father while his elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor seemingly gave the ceremony a miss. Guests a the ceremony folded their hands in respect in front of Sridevi's photo.
The Sridevi Chowk is strategically located close to the actress' long-time residence Green Acres Tower. At the time of her death, the funeral procession also passed through the nearby Purshotam Tandon Road.
About Sridevi's family
Sridevi, who was the 'first female superstar' of Indian cinema, had a career that spanned over 50 years in a variety of genres. She was known for her work in movies like Karma, Nazrana, Main Tera Dushman, ChaalBaaz, Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Judaai, English Vinglish, and Mom among numerous others. Sridevi passed away in an accidental drowning in Dubai in 2018.
The actress was married to Boney Kapoor in 1996. The couple are parents to two daughters - Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. While Janhvi has made a significant name for herself in the Hindi film industry, her sister Khushi made her acting debut recently in the Zoya Akhtar film Archies.
