Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer is earning rave reviews from the critics and audience. The movie has ended the dry spell for Bollywood movies at the box office by surpassing ₹50 crore mark on the opening day. Owing to the positive word-of-mouth, the movie is expected to enter ₹100 crore club in the opening.

Helmed by Amar Kaushik, the movie had a special screening on Wednesday, during which it earned ₹8.35 crore. On the first day, it alone collected ₹46 crore, according to Sacnilk. Adding both the collection, the total stands at ₹54.35 crore. Stree 2 had an overall 77.09 per cent Hindi occupancy on Thursday with the maximum reported in the Lucknow region (90.50 per cent), followed by NCR and Bengaluru regions (86.75 per cent).

This makes it the biggest opening day grosser of 2024, beating Fighter and Kalki 2898 AD (Hindi). Not just this, the movie has also become the biggest opener of Independence Day, beating Gadar 2 which racked ₹40 crore on the opening day. It is the third movie to have the highest opening so far after Jawan (₹65.5 crore) and Pathaan (₹55 crore).

Stree 2 is the fifth installment in Dinesh Vijan's Supernatural Universe after Stree, Roohi, Bhediya and Munjya. Apart from Shraddha, the horror comedy also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles.
