Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 23: Shraddha Kapoor Starrer Mints ₹725 Crore Worldwide

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree 2 is enjoying its run at the box office. On September 7, the horror-comedy drama entered the fourth week of its release. The movie witnessed a slight drop in the numbers but was able to surpass ₹500 crore mark in India.

Helmed by Amar Kaushik, the movie witnessed a drop of 15.89 per cent on the 23rd day, minting ₹4.5 crore, as per Sacnilk. Adding the fourth Friday earnings, the total stands at ₹507.75 crore at the box office in India. Stree 2 had an overall 13.35 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday with the maximum reported in Bengaluru (38 per cent). The movie has become the second-fastest Hindi film to enter the ₹500 crore club after Jawan. The movie's business has benefitted from the postponement of Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency.

However, Stree 2's business might be affected in the fifth week as Kareena Kapoor's highly anticipated movie The Buckingham Murders will release on September 13.

In 23 days the movie has earned ₹119 crore overseas, taking the worldwide collection to ₹725 crore.

Abhishek Banerjee calls Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik a ‘bully from Kanpur’

Banerjee said Kaushik, who made his directorial debut with 2018’s Stree, is part of the league. “Amar bhai is a bully from Kanpur, no matter how much he pretends to be this distinguished gentleman,” he quipped. “He has that Kanpuriya vibe in him. He can insult you very badly about your humour, acting. He could be like ‘Abey, kya kar raha hai ye? Ye kahan se seekh ke aaya hai.’ So, you’re always on your toes. And, Pankaj ji, I don’t think he needs to do anything. He’s somebody who can make thin air funny. Sometimes I’m just laughing by looking at the things he does,” he added. The actor said the cast is a bunch of actors who are “very secure”.
