Sunny Deol Wraps Up Filming For Aamir Khan Productions' Lahore 1947 After Marathon Schedule

The shoot of Sunny Deol starrer Lahore 1947 concluded with a massive train sequence reportedly ever attempted in a film about the Partition era.

Sunny Deol has been busy shooting for his next highly anticipated project Lahore 1947. Helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi and bankrolled by Aamir Khan's production house, the makers have shared a new update. On Monday, the makers shared that they had wrapped up the shooting after an "intense" 70-day schedule with no breaks.

According to a source close to the production, it was a "fantastic experience" to see the veteran actors working together and bringing a "magical quality". The source added, "The shooting for Lahore 1947 has concluded after an intensive 70-day schedule. The schedule has been completed without taking any breaks. Once the edit is locked, there will be a few days of patchwork… but largely the film has finished shooting. Raj ji has been very excited with what they have been able to capture. There have been several crowd sequences that have been shot".

Lahore 1947's shoot concluded with a massive train sequence which according to makers is "one of the most ambitious and elaborate scenes ever attempted in a film about the Partition era".

Apart from Sunny Deol, the movie also stars Preity Zinta and Karan Deol in the lead roles. Karan will be seen essaying the character of Javed in the film. Earlier in an interview, Aamir revealed the reason behind Karan's casting. He said, "I am so happy that Karan has tested so well for the extremely critical role of Javed. His natural innocence, his sincerity, and his honesty brings a lot to the table."

He added that Karan had applied himself, worked hard, did workshops with Adishakti, rehearsals with Raj, and was giving his all. "Javed is a great part, a very challenging part, and I am sure that with Raj Santoshi to direct him, Karan will nail it," concluded Aamir.
