Taapsee Pannu Opens Up About Relationship With Mathias Boe, Jokes Olympics Medal Was 'Half Job Done'

Taapsee Pannu recently tied the knot with long-time boyfriend Mathias Boe. The couple got married in an intimate ceremony in Udaipur. Only close friends and family of both the bride and groom were present at the event. The actress has now opened up about her marriage. 

Taapsee Pannu says its was not ‘love at her first sight’ for her

In an interview with Cosmopolitan India, Taapsee Pannu revealed that she kept meeting Mathias as a friend before she finally found his ideal partner. The actress shared that she had always been in awe of athletes. For the unversed, Mathias is a gold-medalist badminton player. 

The actress shared, “I think the fact that he is an athlete and someone who had won at the Olympics for a start… half the job was done there (laughs).” She added, “I have always been very impressed and in awe of athletes who play for their country and play under extreme pressure without getting affected… It was not like a love-at-first-sight situation, for me at least—I took time to test if it’s really practical… the feasibility of the relationship was important for me.”

In the same conversation, Taapsee also shared that she grew in love with Mathias gradually and earned for him. She shared, “I was obviously fond of him and respected him, and we kept meeting and I grew to love him. So falling in love didn’t happen in a month or instantly. It is a fact though, which I keep repeating in most interviews about him—when I met him I felt like I met a man. I had dated so many boys before him, and suddenly, I met a guy who didn’t feel like anyone I’d been with before. So there’s this sudden sense of security and maturity, which was so evident that I felt like ‘okay, you’ve finally found the man’” 

As per media reports, Taapsee and Mathias’ wedding ceremonies began on Wednesday, March 20. Their families and close friends attended the ceremony. Actor Pavail Gulati, who has worked with Taapsee in Thappad and Dobaara joined the wedding celebrations along with director and Taapsee's good friend Anurag Kashyap. Screenwriting couple Kanika Dhillon and Himanshu Sharma were also at the event.
