Urvashi Rautela Say She 'Let Go Of' Ishaqzaade For Miss Universe: Never Spoke To Parineeti...
Recently, Urvashi Rautela made a surprising revelation about her early career, disclosing that she was considered for a lead role in Yash Raj Films' Ishaqzaade.
Urvashi Rautela has clinched many titles in the pageant industry, notably being the only Miss Universe India to wear three different crown designs. She made her Bollywood debut in 2013, starring in the romantic comedy Singh Saab The Great alongside Sunny Deol and Amrita Rao. Since then, she has featured in films such as Sanam Re, Hate Story 4, and Great Grand Masti.
Recently, the model-turned-actress made a surprising revelation about her early career, disclosing that she was considered for a lead role in Yash Raj Films' 2012 romantic movie.
Urvashi Rautela was the first choice of Yash Raj Films' 2012 Ishaqzaade?
In a recent interview with Hauterrfly, Urvashi Rautela disclosed that she was originally meant to make her debut in the romantic-action film Ishaqzaade, featuring Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. However, she chose to pass on the opportunity to focus on the demanding beauty pageant preparations.
Urvashi Rautela stated, “I had to let go of a Yash Raj Films movie because I wanted to go for Miss Universe. It was Ishaqzaade, which was supposed to be my launch. But this (pageantry) was my focus since childhood, and I really wanted to prepare for it. Some people think differently; after winning, they turn their attention to Bollywood. But in my case, it was never like that."
Released in 2012, Ishaqzaade, directed by Habib Faisal, proved to be a box office hit. The film marked the debut of Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles, supported by Gauahar Khan, Natasha Rastogi, Anil Rastogi, and Shashank Khaitan. Parineeti's performance received significant acclaim, earning her a National Film Award for Special Mention.
I wanted to be a pageant winner more: Urvashi Rautela on leaving debut film
Further, when asked whether Miss Universe India 2015 spoke to Parineeti Chopra, who ended up doing the role, she said, "I never spoke to Parineeti [Chopra] about this, but it is good. Sabki kismat alag alag likhi hai bhagwan ne (Everyone has their own destinies). I wanted to be a pageant winner more than a heroine, this (Bollywood) followed automatically.”
Urvashi, who was crowned Miss Diva – Miss Universe India in 2015, represented India at the Miss Universe pageant that same year. She will soon appear in the upcoming comedy Welcome to the Jungle, featuring Akshay Kumar .
