Vedaa On OTT Release: The action thriller directed by Nikkhil Advani, was released in theaters on August 15, 2024, coinciding with Independence Day . It was produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment and JA Entertainment, with starring John Abraham, and Sharvari in the lead roles. The other cast included Abhishek Banerjee and Ashish Vidyarthi. The movie received mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office, grossing over ₹26 crores worldwide. Nearly two months after its release, the film is now preparing for its OTT debut.

On October 9, the official Instagram handle of the streaming platform ZEE5 announced the digital release of the movie Vedaa. The video featured John Abraham and Sharvari in an action-packed scene, accompanied by catchy theme music. The message in the video read, "World Digital Premiere Vedaa Releasing Tomorrow." After its ZEE5 release, fans can also watch it on OTTplay Premium.

The caption revealed that the release coincides with the Dussehra celebration on October 10, 2024, offering viewers the opportunity to enjoy the film from home during the festival weekend. It stated, “In this fight for justice, she’ll be unstoppable. Watch #Vedaa releasing TOMORROW on #ZEE5!” Although the film didn’t do well in the theatres, fans still expressed their excitement in the comments. One user remarked, "Yeh hui na baat," while another shared, "I am excited." Many also responded with red hearts and fire emojis.

Stree 2 Vs Vedaa Vs Khel Khel Mein: Independence Day movie clash lands on OTT

Vedaa faced stiff competition at the box office, releasing alongside two major films: Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2, and Akshay Kumar ’s Khel Khel Mein. According to reports, Stree 2 became a blockbuster, grossing ₹837 crore worldwide, with ₹702.50 crore coming from domestic markets. In contrast, both Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa underperformed. 

Khel Khel Mein earned ₹40.65 crore globally, while Vedaa managed only ₹26 crore. After a two-month run, these star-studded films have been plated to OTT platforms. Stree 2 is available for rent on Amazon Prime Video and will be free after a month, while Khel Khel Mein is currently streaming on Netflix.
