Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli broke the internet on February 20 with an affirmative confirmation of endless speculations swirling the actor-cricketer power couple, regarding their second pregnancy. Skipping a pregnancy confirmation all together, Anushka and Virat shared the news of having welcomed their second child, a baby boy, by the name of Akaay. The post taking the internet by fire is rather reminiscent of the time when the power couple had announced their first pregnancy, back in 2020.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli took to their respective Instagram handles, back in August of 2020, to announce their pregnancy. The two were all smiles as they cradled Anushka's ample bump. The caption to the post read, "And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021" The comment section was soon flooded with congratulatory messages from fellow celebrities and fans alike.

The post broke the internet within a matter of hours. Anushka's announcement garnered a total of  6,229,379 likes. The same announcement by Virat garnered, 11,180,385 likes. Anushka and Virat gave birth to Vamika on January 11, 2021. In February of that year, Anushka shared a family picture of the three coupled with what served as an unofficial name announcement for Vamika. Vamika has turned three this year.

Anushka and Virat took to their respective Instagram handles to make separate posts, announcing the birth of their son. As per the same, Anushka gave birth on February 15. The announcement was made five days later on February 20. Virat and Anushka have named their son Akaay - which means 'shining moon'.

The announcement also requested the media and fans to respect the growing family's privacy. The request comes following the frenzied speculation over Anushka being pregnant a second time around.
