When Moushumi Chatterjee Clapped Back At Rajesh Khanna For Nasty Comment On Her

Bollywood News: Moushumi Chatterjee and Rajesh Khanna’s film Roti Kapda Aur Makaan is a cult classic which is still loved by fans. Veteran actress Moushumi in a recent interview shared her experience of working with Rajesh Khanna.

When Moushumi Chatterjee snapped back at Rajesh Khanna for his unsavoury remark

Moushumi Chaterjee opened up about her interaction with Rajesh Khanna on a film set in an interview with Lehren Retro. The actress said how the late actor questioned her if the father of her child was her husband Jayanta Mukherjee or Vinod Mehra. Moushumi then revealed she clapped back at Rajesh Khanna which left him stunned.

Talking about Rajesh Khanna’s remark, “Yes, I gave him back. I asked him Is it Rishi Kapoor’s child or yours?” The question was in reference to his and Dimple Kapadia’s kids.

She further said, “Rajesh Khanna played dirty many times. Today, he is no more. I went to see him also in his last stage. He was praising me in front of my younger daughter. He said to her, Your maa was mad but we were all scared of her. She doesn’t believe in any nonsense."

Moushumi Chaterjee has worked in both Hindi and Bengali cinema. The actress got married to Jayanta Mukherjee at a young age. Jayanta Mukherjee is the son of popular film producer, music composer and singer Hemant Kumar. Jayanta is also an exponent of Rabindra Sangeet.

The couple has two daughters. Her daughter Payal, who had type 1 diabetes and in coma since 2018, died on 13 December 2019.

Rajesh Khanna was married to Dimple Kapadia in March 1973. Dimple Kapadia was then only 15 years old. Khanna and Kapadia have two daughters from the marriage; Twinkle and Rinke. 

Khanna and Kapadia separated in 1982, but never completed the divorce proceedings.
