When Sonakshi Sinha Shared That Her Father Shatrughan Sinha Doesn't Want Her To Get Married

Sonakshi Sinha is all set to tie the knot with long-time boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal on June 23. The couple’s nuptials will reportedly take place in a high-end restaurant in Mumbai. An old interview of the Dabanng actress wherein she spoke about her father’s thoughts towards her marriage is now going viral on social media.

When Sonakshi Sinha revealed father Shatrughan Sinha never wants her to get married 

In a 2021 interview with Bollywood Bubble, Sonakshi Sinha shared her parent's reaction to the topic of her marriage. The actress shared that while her mother sometimes touches base on the topic, her father absolutely refrains from it. She also added that her father wished for her to never get married. 

In the interview, Sonakshi shared, “If it is up to him (Shatrughan Sinha) then he would never want me to get married. Mom sometimes drops that little bomb ki abhi toh time hogaya, (marriage) kar lena chahiye, and I just give her one look and then she’s like acha thik hai thik hai.” 

She added, “No, there are not like I’m glad that they have given me that kind of independence where until I’m not ready they will not really like sit on my head and like ‘shaadi karlo beta’ because see, I’m happy with my work and I’m doing well.”

Days after the reports of Sonakshi Sinha’s wedding first went viral online, her father and veteran actor Sharughan Sinha responded to the same. As per a post shared by paparazzi member Varinder Chawla, the Dostana actor asserted that her daughter will have his blessings if and when she decides to get married. 

As per the paparazzi account, the actor said, “Ek hi to beti hai meri. I am neither confirming nor denying her wedding news. Time will tell. She will always have my blessings.” Sonakshi and Zaheer are yet to react to the news of their wedding. As per reports, before the D-day on June 23, the couple will host a sangeet ceremony on June 19.
