Actress Noor Malabika Das was found dead at her residence in the Lokhandwala area of Mumbai. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide, according to media reports. Her body was recovered from her flat after her neighbours noticed a foul smell and alerted the authorities. According to PTI, she was suffering from depression and was taking medications for her condition.

Noor, originally from Assam, had previously worked as an air hostess with Qatar Airways. After quitting the hospitality business, she ventured into acting. She featured in roles in several projects such as Siskiyaan, Walkaman, Teekhi Chatni, Jaghanya Upaya, Charamsukh, Dekhi Andekhi, Backroad Hustle and more. She was last seen in Kajol and Jissu Sengupta starrer courtroom drama The Trial. Her last role was in Gharwali Baharwali. The OTT film premiered on May 31.
Apart from acting, Noor actively interacted with her social media family by sharing workout and dance videos. She kept her over 164K Instagram followers entertained with her fun and frolic filled reels.
On Friday, Mumbai police personnel had to break open the door of Noor's residence after receiving no response from inside. Upon entering, they found her body in a decomposed state, hanging from a ceiling fan. Following standard procedures, the police filed a complaint and attempted to contact her family, but no immediate family members came forward to claim her body.
Media reports indicate that the police have collected samples, including medicines and mobile phones, from her home as part of the investigation.
