Why Vijay Sethupathi was intimidated by his Merry Christmas co-star Katrina Kaif

Vijay Sethupathi is currently gearing up for the release of his film Merry Christmas. This film co-stars Katrina Kaif and will hit the big screens on January 12. In a new interview, Katrina revealed that not many people spoke to her during the filming of the movie and she thought it would have been on the director’s order. However, Vijay had another story to tell. 

Katrina Kaif doubted herself as no one spoke to her on Merry Christmas set 

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Katrina Kaif heaped praises on her Merry Christmas co-star Vijay Sethupathi. She called him, “very philosophical and he is very very wise.” She further commented that the actor did not speak to her much during the filming of the movie. Katrina reasoned that she thought the director Sriram Raghavan must have asked everyone to not talk on set. She came to this conclusion after speaking with Varun Dhawan, who worked with Sriram in Badlapur, who confirmed that the director insists people maintain decorum on sets. 

Katrina said, “I came to know later that Sriram sir possibly told people that they should not talk too much to me on set. Varun Dhawan told this to me. He was asking, ‘What’s it like working with Sriram sir?’ I said, ‘He is amazing, his world is amazing but nobody talks too much to me on set.’ I was really questioning myself. He said, ‘Don’t worry, he has told everyone not to talk to you.’ I don’t know if that’s true.” 

Vijay Sethupathi says he was afraid to talk to Katrina Kaif 

When the actor-director duo came to know about Katrina’s woes, they immediately cleared the air. Sriram denied having any part in it and said, “I dont think so.” The Farzi star then clarified, “No no, it was not like that. I’m afraid of you that’s why I didn’t (talk much). I am new to this industry. She is well experienced, she is big star here.” 

Merry Christmas is a romantic thriller film that will release on the big screen on January 12. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles and will be released in Tamil and Hindi both.
