Prabhas and Deepika Padukone are gearing up for the release of their upcoming movie Kalki 2898 AD. The movie has been in the news since it was announced and now the trailer has added to the excitement among the movie buffs. The movie is just a day away from hitting the theatres and it has already sold over 10 lakh tickets for the opening day, becoming the first Indian film of 2024.
The advance booking for the first day has already grossed over ₹40.1 crore, as per a report in Sacnilk. The Telugu version of the movie already minted over ₹31 crores in advance booking. The 2D version has managed to collect around ₹17.6 crore while the 3D version has collected ₹10 lakh.
Kalki 2898 AD's Hindi version in 2D has already minted ₹12.16 crore, while the 3D version has collected ₹33.57 crore and IMAX 3D has collected ₹4,84,665. Seeing the collection in Hindi, the sci-fi thriller has already surpassed Prabhas' last release Salaar.
Nag Ashwin's directorial will also release in Tamil and Malayalam language. The total advance booking at present stands at over ₹37.35 crore
According to a report in Sacnilk, the movie might earn between - ₹180 crore to ₹200 crore. The movie is expected to earn over ₹120 crore in India and over ₹60 crore overseas. If the movie earns ₹200 crore worldwide then it will be the third Indian movie to achieve the milestone after RRR and Baahubali 2.
The movie is inspired by Hindu scriptures and is set in a post-apocalyptic world, in the year 2898 AD. In the movie, Kamal Haasan will essay the role of an antagonist, who is in search of pregnant Deepika as she is bearing a god in his womb.
