Akshay Kumar has had his fair share of struggles to achieve success during the beginning of his acting career. In an ANI podcast, the actor recalled the time when he shifted to Mumbai with his family and resided in a small room, paying ₹100 rent. Akshay also opened up about his initial days living in Delhi's Chandni Chowk.

Akshay Kumar recalls his struggling days

During the interview, Akshay Kumar revealed that 24 people used to live in the same house with him in Chandni Chowk. He said, "We were 24 people living in the same house in Chandni Chowk. We all would sleep in the same room. In the morning, when we woke up for exercise, everyone would jump over each other to get out."

He then recounted the time when he and his family shifted to Mumbai from Delhi and started residing in the Sion Koliwada region where they paid ₹100 as rent. He further added, "I swear to God, there wasn’t a single day where we did not smile or laugh. Now, that we have money, sometimes we feel a bit sad but at that time, there was nothing to be sad about, We would have dal chawal, jeera aloo, aloo gobhi, bhindi, we would eat all of this and we were happy."

During the same interview, Akshay Kumar was asked about his kids, Nitara and Aarav's reactions to his films. Responding to the question, the actor said, “My daughter is young. Whenever my son watches my films, he just speaks a little. When I ask him, he says he doesn't like it in case.”
