Avneet Kaur Accused Of Fraud: The actress has landed in a soup when a local jewellery brand accused her of not giving credit and committing fraud. Avneet Kaur has been accused by a local brand called “Rang” of committing to wear pieces sent by them and featuring them on her social media posts. However, she has allegedly not given any credit to the brand and has also refused to make a payment for the jewellery she wore.
Avneet Kaur accused of fraud
A local jewellery brand Rang took to their official Instagram account to name and shame Avneet Kaur, who featured in the Kangana Ranaut directorial film Tiku Weds Sheru. As per the page, the brand was in a verbal contract with Avneet's stylist who assured them that the actress would credit them when she uploaded a picture wearing their jewellery. The brand claimed that in her recent trip to Europe, the actress has adorned the jewellery more than seven times but has not acknowledged them even once. They even accused her of tagging high-end brands like Vivien Westwood and Dior making it seem like the pieces were sourced from there.
A part of the statement by the brand read, “When Avneet did not tag our brand in her first post, we contacted her stylist. The stylist said she spoke to Avneet, who agreed to credit our brand in a different post with another outfit. However, when Avneet posted again, she still did not give credit. We then messaged the stylist once more asking why Avneet had not credited our brand. Avneet replied to the stylist saying “Hey I’ll pay them how much is it”. We responded by explaining that it wasn’t about the money but about sticking to what was decided and the reason we sourced the jewellery for Avneet."
Avneet Kaur declines to pay the brand
In the same post, the brand also mentioned that Avneet Kaur went back on her words several times. They shared screenshots of chats wherein she can be seen offering to make payment for the pieces she wore but later refrain from doing so. As per the brand owners, the actress finally settled for putting up a story showcasing the pieces on her Instagram account and tagging the brand, but that has not happened to date. They shared that working with the actress has been ‘one of their worst experiences’ to date.
Concluding the post, the brand shared: “We feel we shouldn't sit quiet and accept this. This isn't fair for us or any brand or any stylist that provides jewellery, outfits, etc. to celebrities, only to be met with such an attitude. This cavalier approach raises concerns about how some public figures exploit brands and stylists, relying on their influence to bypass mutual understandings.”
Adding more, the owners shared, “This experience highlights the broader challenges we face in the industry. It's crucial for both parties to honour their commitments to foster trust and mutual respect. This has been the worst experience to date and we believe it is important to stand up and speak out against such behaviour, hoping to prevent similar situations for other brands and stylists in the future." Avneet is yet to respond to the allegations.
