Gul Panag supports Kangana Ranaut

On June 10, days after the incident of Kangana getting slapped, Gul Panag took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to extend her support. The actress-turned-politician opined that violence of any sort on anyone should not be justified. She also penned a note for all those mocking the incident.

Gul Panag wrote, “We cannot justify someone in uniform making a political statement on duty — whatever the provocation. This is a slippery slope, and what the meme makers, stand-up comics, artistes and others fail to realise is that they could also be on the receiving end of violence one day.”

He said, "A woman resorting to physical violence against another woman, exploiting her position, is entirely unjustifiable. Legal action should be pursued in response to this." Kher added, "Expressing anger is understandable, but resorting to such actions is regrettable and unacceptable." The actor concluded by saying, “Regardless of Kangana's status as an MP or an actress, she is, above all, a woman. Any form of violence towards a woman or anyone else is unjust.”
