Gul Panag is among the many celebrities who have come out in support of Kangana Ranaut in the recent slap gate case. The actress took to her social media to extend her support to the Queen actress after a CSIF officer allegedly slapped her at the Chandigarh airport. Gul Panag is also associated with the Aam Aadmi Party while Kangana Ranaut recently made a debut in politics and won her first Lok Sabha elections to become a Lok Sabha MP from Mandi. 

Gul Panag supports Kangana Ranaut 

On June 10, days after the incident of Kangana getting slapped, Gul Panag took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to extend her support. The actress-turned-politician opined that violence of any sort on anyone should not be justified. She also penned a note for all those mocking the incident.

Gul Panag wrote, “We cannot justify someone in uniform making a political statement on duty — whatever the provocation. This is a slippery slope, and what the meme makers, stand-up comics, artistes and others fail to realise is that they could also be on the receiving end of violence one day.” 

Anupam Kher demands legal action against CSIF constable who slapped Kangana

Anupam Kher has unequivocally denounced the slapping of actress and newly-elected MP Kangana Ranaut by a CISF constable. Kher also called for legal action to be pursued against the assailant. He was speaking to the media on the sidelines of the Star of India Awards 2024 in Mumbai. The veteran actor, who has always supported Kangana and recently congratulated her on her victory in Mandi, has voiced his outrage over the slapgate.

He said, "A woman resorting to physical violence against another woman, exploiting her position, is entirely unjustifiable. Legal action should be pursued in response to this." Kher added, "Expressing anger is understandable, but resorting to such actions is regrettable and unacceptable." The actor concluded by saying, “Regardless of Kangana's status as an MP or an actress, she is, above all, a woman. Any form of violence towards a woman or anyone else is unjust.”
