Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeep shared a heartfelt note on Instagram after the death of sixty-four-year-old elephant Arjuna on Monday.

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeep has shared his condolences on his Instagram after the death of Sixty-four-year-old elephant Arjuna on Monday.

Darshan shared a throwback photo with the departed elephant in which he is seen happily posing with the giant animal. In the photo,  he looked cheerful as he held the left teeth of the elephant. In the caption, he wrote a small note. He wrote, “It is sad that Arjuna, who won the hearts of the people of the state carrying Dasara Ambari 3 times, has died today in wild elephants. He is equal to Arjuna’s greatness! Om Shanti!”

How did elephant Arjun die? 

The officials said that the fight took place during the operation capturing a wild elephant at the Yesalur range forest in Sakleshpur taluk of Hassan district.

The elephant used to carry the golden howdah for eight years. The officials familiar with the matter.

Reportedly, Arjuna succumbed to injuries during the fight after the wild elephant’s tusk pierced his stomach. SP Mahadev, the assistant conservator of forests,  informed us that a wild elephant translocation operation has already been launched.

He said, “We launched a wild elephant translocation operation on Monday morning as a team of elephants arrived in Bengaluru from the neighboring Chikkamagaluru district on Saturday.”

Who was elephant Arjun? 

Arjuna participated in Mysuru Dasara for 22 years. He carried Ambari eight times from 2012 to 2019. The animal used to be a part of the Jamboosawari and is 2.88 meters tall. It weighs around 5,800 to 6,000 kg.

Meanwhile, Darshan has also shared photos of the much-anticipated film, Kaatera. The film is all set to release on December 29. The film is starred by Challenging Star Darshan alongside debutante Aradhana Ram. It is co-written and directed by Tharun Kishore Sudhir and Jadeshha K. Hampi.

Kaatera’s story is inspired by real-life incidents from the 1970s. Besides this, the film also stars Kumar Govind, Vijanath Biradar, Jagapathi Babu, and Master Rohit in the main roles.
